Rich Homie Quan – Bossman

Rich Homie Quan proves he’s still the “Bossman” on new single. Rich Homie Quan fans have been steady waiting for his new Rich As In Spirit album for a minute, and while the project has yet to drop, the Atlanta artist has come through with an apertif, the introspective single “Bossman.”

And while he’s been away for a bit, Rich Homie Quan’s latest drop intends on clarifying one thing – his name can, and should still command a degree of respect in the game. As for the track itself, “Bossman” kicks off on a melodic note, with Quan reflecting on his current situation and delivering some realness in the process.

“I’m losing faith in the people I think I love the most, it’s hard to trust, I’ve been hurt before, take it for what it’s worth.” Rich Homie Quan isn’t afraid to get vulnerable here, and it makes the chorus all the more powerful. And while Rich Homie may pour his heart out in the chorus, the verses find himself reflecting on his come-up, where he first began building a reputation.

“I’m the boss man, I was tough man, coming up,” raps Quan. “I played my walkman when I was walking, to the bus, don’t get caught man, money talk man, listen up, my trigger finger by the middle finger cause I ain’t never gave a fuck.”

While the rapper might have matured since then, his proclivity for boss-like behavior has only gotten stronger. Stay tuned for more bangers from Rich Homie Quan, and if you’re really itching for that Rich As In Spirit joint, perhaps it’s time to revisit his latest mixtape Back To The Basics. Quan previously described that project’s main goal as “giving the fans the Quan they want as opposed to the Quan I wanted to be.”
